Robert Kovach named new Fire Chief

The Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District is pleased to announce the promotion of Robert Kovach to Fire Chief for our district.

Chief Kovach has 38 years in the fire service, with his entire career servicing Santa Barbara County.  He has spent the last 12 years proudly as a Battalion Chief with the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District and 26 years with the Lompoc Fire Department, where he started his career as a Firefighter.  Chief Kovach has been a Chief Officer for the last 24 years and holds a bachelor's degree in fire administration.

Chief Kovach's first day as Fire Chief will be October 1, 2023.
