Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District lost a friend and director, Bob Duncan on January 29, 2014.
January 24 and 25 staff of CSFD came together at a Planning Retreat to update our 10 Year Strategic Plan. Staff reviewed our mission and reset goals and vision for the district.
The Fire District is currently conducting an ad-hoc working group discussion top review Capital Improvement Projects including Fire Station construction
Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District Board of Directors currently opposes State Responsibility Area (SRA) fees, which adds an additional financial burden on our constituents without discussion, awareness and community input.
Many residents in the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District live within the “State Responsibility Area” or SRA. These residents will soon receive a notice in the mail from the State Board of Equalization alerting them that a fee will be levied for fire prevention services. This is the result of legislation that was recently signed into law.
