Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District Welcomes Dan Fawcett

By Grace Rampton

Dan Fawcett is Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District's new Wildland Specialist.

Beforing coming to our agency, Dan spent the last 15 years working for the United States Forest Service, locally in the Los Padres National Forest. Dan gained much of his knowledge in wildland firefighting through his time on the Hotshot Crews, type three engines and helicopters. The last four years he served as a Patrol on the Prevention "side of the house".

Dan has been married for the better part of 16 years to his wife, Shealeigh, who is a teacher for the Goleta Union School District.  They have lived in Santa Barbara area for 20 years and have two children, Colton and Ila, who are 13 and 11.

"He is looking forward to working with all the folks within the District, adjoining agencies, as well as the local community, to help keep Carpinteria and Summerland a safe and awesome place to be."

We are excited to have Dan join our Fire Family!
